About
TheOutro.com (currently written theoutro.com) launched in March of 2004 as the successor of various themed and hosted community bulletin-board style forums administered by Ed Drumheller. Currently, theoutro has not one standard theme across it's service, but deals with a bit of everything from Politics, Music, Video Games and Film.
Site and Logo Designs
Since 2004, theoutro.com has operated under five different logos, and four different site designs. Upon initial launch, theoutro.com had a simple design with a concept logo that is now considered an "alpha" design. Although not being considered an actual design for theoutro.com, this concept is considered the very beginning of theoutro.com and is represented by the first logo below:
A few months after the original launch of theoutro.com, A full featured site was launched including a new set of forums for the first time published under theoutro name. Previously the community was still transitioning over from one of it's predecessors. The Logo was tweaked, including larger font and was published as represented by the second logo below:
Less than a year after the original launch of theoutro, Version 2 was launched again with a tweaked logo replacing one of the fonts, and including the tag line "If You Only Knew" which would accompany theoutro's name for majority of the site's history. The design was mostly known for it's very blue design which had it's praise and criticism by different members. It is represented by the third logo below:
During 2006 several server related events occurred leading to major downtime for theoutro and the end of the version 2 site designed. Announced in late 2006, TheOutro version 3 was to launch with a new interface, and completely re-designed logo. Though the logo was unveiled, and a proof of concept tech demo index page was published, the overall site design spent several years "In the Making." It is represented by the fourth logo below:
In Late 2008, Two years after the original planned launch of version 3 of theoutro.com, the current build of the design was scrapped and a new design was developed up to current web standards. After going through three years of temporary skins, and logos, theoutro.com version 3, named "ReFlx" launched in March of 2010 with a new minimalist logo with a color scheme most similar to the original version 3 logo. It is represented by the fifth logo below (And Is the current Site and Logo Design).
